The Study of Nuclear Collective Motion by Stripping Reactions*

چکیده
The ‘intrinsic’ prohabilit,v for capt, ure of nurleons is studied for nurlei which exhibit collective vibrations or rotations in addition to an underlying shell structure of independent, nucleon orbits. Such probabilities or reduced widths for lowlying nuclear levels can be measured in ‘direct’ nuclear reactions; the present discussion is formulated chiefly in terms of deuteron stripping. Various selection rules are derived, and possible reasorls for their breakdown studied. It, is found that stripping is a particularly direct way of studying the wave functions of single particle orbits in st.rongly deformed nuclei. There are simple branching ratios between the capture probabilities int,o the various members of a rotational band in such nuclei. Finally, it is shown how such reduced width measurements can provide an independent check on the wave functions postulated by (Morn and Klema t)o correlate empirically the ground state propert, ies of nuclei.

Coupled Collective Motion in Nuclear Reactions
In this paper, we review the roles of collective modes in nuclear reactions. We emphaize the strong couplings of various collective states with the monopole and quadrupole motions. In inelastic excitation, these couplings can be seen as an important source of anharmonicity in the multiphonon spectrum. In fusion reaction, the breathing and quadrupole motions strongly affects the oscillation of p...
متن کاملAdvanced Motion Correction Methods in PET
With the arrival of increasingly higher resolution PET systems, small amounts of motion can cause significant blurring in the images, compared to the intrinsic resolutions of the scanners. In this work, we have reviewed advanced correction methods for the three cases of (i) unwanted patient motion, as well as motions due to (ii) cardiac and (iii) respiratory cycles. For the first type of ...
متن کاملComparison of the myocardial perfusion and wall motion results by ECG-Gated 99mTc-MIBI SPECT, before and after CABG for evaluation of myocardial viability [Persian]
It is of value to determine the amount of viable myocardial tissue in patients suffering from chronic coronary artery disease and ventricular dysfunction. Having the capability of evaluating both myocardial perfusion and function, simultaneously, myocardial scanning by ECG-Gated is an appropriate method for this purpose. The aim of this study was to compare the results of myocardial perfu...

Introduction: The aim of present study was to estimate effective dose from most common procedures performed in nuclear medicine departments of Golestan province. Methods: Data of nuclear medicine procedures performed in 2 nuclear medicine departments in Golestan province were collected during 4 years. Effective dose, collective effective dose and effective dose per examination were calculated ...
متن کاملEnhanced excitation of Giant Pairing Vibrations in heavy-ion reactions induced by weakly-bound projectiles
The use of radioactive ion beams is shown to offer the possibility to study collective pairing states at high excitation energy, which are not usually accessible with stable projectiles because of large energy mismatch. In the case of two-neutron stripping reactions induced by He, we predict a population of the Giant Pairing Vibration in Pb or Sn with cross sections of the order of a millibarn,...
